Someone fly-tips in England every 30 seconds, which equates to over 107,000 incidents in a month (England 2007/08)

The most common fly-tip is a black bin bag of household rubbish at the side of a main road

Over 50 per cent of fly-tips dealt with by local authorities are household refuse sacks or other household waste

Over 31 per cent of fly-tips dealt with by the Environment Agency involve construction related waste (21% construction, demolition and excavation waste and 10 % asbestos)
