The Energy Networks Association (ENA) is the trade association for the UK transmission and distribution license holders, acting in the interest of the gas and electricity network sectors. The ENA promotes the operation of the networks to help ensure they are safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable.
The ENA also provides a forum for discussion amongst company members to facilitate communication and share experience of good practice across the energy networks sector. This includes sharing knowledge and approaches to both reducing the environmental impact of their operations, and dealing with environmental pollution arising from other sources, including fly-tipping.
The companies' network infrastructure and equipment is situated on both public and private land and, depending on the region and location, some installations can be subject to fly-tipping. The companies adopt individual approaches to dealing with the issue, but look to share information with each other and contribute to a coordinated response to the problem.
