LACORS (the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services), as part of the LGA Group, is the local government central body responsible for overseeing local authority regulatory and related services in the UK.

Deemed by Councils to be a priority, coordination of the streetscene service was taken on by LACORS in 2010. This resulted from a fundamental review of LACORS current policy areas. Drawing from extensive scoping work and recommendations a workplan for 2010 has been agreed and one of the work streams is for LACORS to provide a national steer and governance for councils strategies on fly-tipping; achieve better working between landowners, the Environment Agency and Councils and for Councils to better understand Protocol 6. These endeavours will hopefully produce a more coordinated approach to fly-tipping across England and Wales.
