Whether you are a business or a householder, if you need waste taken away, other than by the Local Authority, ensure you ask questions or them and yourself - this is your duty of care.
THINK - This is my waste – do I really know what is going to happen to it?
CHECK - That the company you have hired are registered to carry waste at the Environment Agency's Public Register or by calling 08708 506506. You can check by company name or carrier number.
DESCRIBE - Ask for a receipt describing the waste carrier’s information including vehicle details and waste destination.
RECORD - Keep records for all waste that you transfer or receive for at least two years.
